With great success and a huge number of visitors, which seem to have exceeded fifteen thousand, the 14th Pancyprian Deryneia Strawberry Festival took place, organized by the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia with the support and contribution of hundreds of volunteers who worked for days for its successful outcome.
The Festival's doors opened at 4:45 in the afternoon and included numerous events and activities for children, dozens of kiosks selling strawberry-based products, as well as an artistic program that began with Myrto Mletiou and culminated with Peggy Zina.
In his greeting, the Minister of Interior Konstantinos Ioannou congratulated the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia for the impeccable organization, emphasizing that through the festivals, the value and quality of agricultural products produced in our country by Cypriot farmers are highlighted, as well as their contribution to gastronomy, folk tradition and local economies.
For his part, the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, Mr. George Nikolettos, praised the cooperation that exists between all members of the Municipal Council, congratulating the hundreds of volunteers who worked day and night for this great cultural event to highlight and promote the local product of Deryneia.
For his part, the Deputy Mayor of Deryneia, Mr. Nikos Lilis, referred to the importance of volunteers and the Municipality's service, which were decisive factors for the success of the Festival.
Among others present at the Festival were the Speaker of the Parliament and President of DISY, Ms. Annita Dimitriou, the President of AKEL, Mr. Stefanos Stefanou, members of parliament and local officials.
