The Famagusta District Court today issued a two-day detention order against two foreigners from Egypt, aged 29 and 33, to facilitate police investigations into investigated case of assault and causing grievous bodily harm or injury.

According to the Police, around 6 yesterday afternoon, information was received about a quarrel between two foreigners, aged 29 and 33 years old from Egypt, who work in a farmhouse in a rural area in Deryneia.
Specifically, the 33-year-old, for an unknown reason, attacked his 29-year-old compatriot with a knife, injuring him in various parts of his body, while the 29-year-old punched the 33-year-old.
The employer of the foreigners transported them to the General Hospital of Famagusta where they were examined by the doctors on duty. The 29-year-old was found to have a bruise on his left side, five centimeters deep and bruises on his left arm, while the 33-year-old suffered a fractured nasal bone.
The two foreigners were provided with first aid, while around ten last night they were arrested, under arrest warrants.
The 33-year-old was arrested for the crime of assault and causing grievous bodily harm and the 29-year-old for the crime of causing injury.
In the morning, two Egyptians appeared before the Famagusta District Court, which issued a detention order against them for two days.
The case is being examined by the Famagusta Police Department.
