The proposal to avoid cuts in the Cohesion, Solidarity and Rural Policy Funds was requested by the competent Commissioner for Budget and Human Resources, Mr. Guenther Oettinger, the Mayor of Deryneia, Mr. Andros G. Karagiannis, in the discussion of the issue Fiscal Framework for the period 2021-2027 ".
The Mayor of Deryneia and a member of the European Committee of the Regions, also asked for the support of remote, underdeveloped and especially rural areas. The primary sector, he continued, can help reduce youth unemployment if they are provided with the necessary incentives.
In the new multiannual financial framework, Mr. Karagiannis pointed out, no distinction should be made between rural and urban areas, rich and poor countries, small and large states.
Regarding the treatment of migration, he stressed that it is also due to climate change, which is caused by all Member States and therefore the phenomenon of the creation of "Climate Refugees" is observed.
