According to diplomatic sources, the meeting that Foreign Minister George Katrougalos had this morning with the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Cyprus, Jane Hall Luth, took place in a good atmosphere.
According to the same sources, Mr. Katrougalos stressed the firm position of Greece for a solution of the Cyprus problem based on the UN decisions on the reunification of the island, the end of the unacceptable regime of guarantees and the withdrawal of the occupation troops.
At the same time, the Greek side raised the issue of violations in Strovilia as a reason for maintaining UNFICYP forces.
