The Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia announces that the contract for the construction of the Culture Hall and Conference Center in the Deryneia Municipal District was signed today, between the General Manager of Miltiades Neophytou Civil Engineering Contractors and Developers Ltd, Mr. Giannakis Ioannou, and the Mayor Mr. George Nikolettou.
The project marks an important development step for the region, as the construction of the Culture Hall and Conference Center is expected to offer multiple benefits at a cultural, social and economic level.
The new Hall will be a core of cultural creation and expression, offering the possibility of hosting theatrical performances, concerts, events and conferences, while enhancing the presence and activity of local artists, associations and cultural institutions. At the same time, it will contribute to the preservation and promotion of the local cultural heritage, attracting visitors from all over Cyprus and abroad.
The Conference Center will be able to accommodate approximately 500 people, while the theater will have a capacity of 450 seats and parking for 140 vehicles. The estimated value of the project is 5.096.050 euros plus VAT.
The project was designed by the architectural firm Ferreos Architect and is part of the Cohesion Policy Program "THALYA 2021-2027", with co-financing from the European Union.
The Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia thanks the General Directorate of Development of the Ministry of Finance and the Directorate of European Funds of the Ministry of Interior for their valuable assistance and excellent cooperation in the implementation of the project.
The Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, George Nikolettos, stated that the signing of the contracts "marks the beginning of a vision that will change the cultural and social map of the region, creating a vibrant space of culture, education and creation, worthy of the history and future of our country."
