An announcement of the Fire Service states that at 06.40 yesterday a call was received for a fire in an auxiliary building in Deryneia. The Famagusta Fire Station responded with 2 fire trucks and the fire was brought under control at 07.02.
The fire caused extensive damage to the premises and its equipment, including heating boilers, various electrical appliances and tools.
The causes of the fire were investigated in cooperation with the Police and it was found that the fire was caused by clothing which was left in a heating boiler.
