The cooperation agreements for the implementation of the "Young Cities" program were signed on Friday, January 09, 2026, at the offices of the Cyprus National Betting Authority, between the Cyprus National Betting Authority, the Cyprus Youth Organization and the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia, with the aim of creating two Youth Parks, one in the Municipal District of Paralimni and one in the Municipal District of Frenaros.

The contracts were signed by the President of the National Betting Authority, Mr. Panagiotis Trisokkas, and the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, Mr. Giorgos Nikolettos, in the presence, among others, of the Deputy Mayor of the Frenaros Municipal District, Mr. Kostas Michael, the Municipal Engineer of the Municipality, Mr. Andreas Genagritis, the Member of the Paralimni Youth Council, Mr. Florentios Economou, as well as the President of the Frenaros Youth Council, Mr. Athanasios Tryfonos.
The "Young Cities" program is an innovative and highly participatory initiative, which aims to empower and actively participate young people in their local communities, through actions that respond to their needs, interests and ideas, contributing to the creation of positive and sustainable changes in their communities.

According to the implementation schedule, the two Youth Parks are expected to be constructed and put into operation by September 2026, so that they can be delivered fully equipped and ready to welcome the youth of the two Municipal Districts.
Youth Parks will offer modern meeting places, creative expression and the development of educational and cultural activities, promoting social participation, the cultivation of skills and the creation of dynamic collective actions.
The Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia expresses its thanks to the Cyprus National Betting Authority and the Cyprus Youth Organization for their cooperation and support and reaffirms its firm commitment to the substantive implementation and success of the actions that will be developed within the framework of the "Young Cities" program.
