Police actions in the tourist area of Ayia Napa between the dates 28/4/23-2/5/23.
The Famagusta Police Department has implemented an action plan in the tourist area of Ayia Napa with the aim of more effectively preventing and combating crime and strengthening the sense of security and protection of citizens, carrying out coordinated operations with the participation of members of the police stations of Ayia Napa and Paralimni, but and members of OPE, TAE, Famagusta Traffic, Y.KA.N Famagusta, Y.A&M Famagusta as well as members of M.M.A.D.
In a campaign by the Famagusta Traffic Police to prevent road collisions and suppress traffic violations, which was carried out between the hours of 2 p.m. -12 midnight on 30/4/23 in Ayia Napa, seven vehicles (4 cars, 1 moped and 2 motorcycles) were impounded for various traffic violations and 76 traffic complaints were made, including 4 complaints for forging a driver's license and using a fake driver's license, 3 for driving with an expired learner's driver's license, 5 for worn tires and 2 for driving an immobilized vehicle.
Also, 145 traffic complaints were made while 20 breathalyzer controls were carried out, resulting in 1 complaint for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The coordinated operations of the Famagusta Police Department will continue throughout the tourist season.
