ΕΠ.ΑΜΜ / ΣΤΟΥ: Losses for adults, rise for ELAM, DIPA won, KEKK possible

The three major parties lost a large percentage of their power in the free province of Famagusta, while a corresponding percentage was received by the Democratic Party, which came down for the first time in the parliamentary elections. 

Specifically, based on the results of the parliamentary elections, a percentage of 6.7% was lost by DISY, AKEL lost 6.1%, DIKO lost 2.3% and Solidarity 1.8%.

On the other hand, the Democratic Party received 4.92% while a small percentage of 0.3% was won by the Social Democrat Movement EDEK.

It is noted that in the Famagusta constituency with 100% of the votes counted, 77.132 (67.43%) voted and the abstention reached 27.262 (32.57%), the valid ballots were 74.869 (97.07%), the invalid 1.742 (2.26%) and the white 521 (0.68%).

In the free province of Famagusta, the 22 patients with coronavirus who were registered in the special lists of the Ministry of Interior also voted in a special polling station.

Regarding the percentages of the parties, DISY received a percentage of 31.51%, losing a percentage of 6.7%, AKEL gained 24.42%, losing a percentage of 6.1%, ELAM received 7.73%, increasing its percentages by 4.1%, DIKO received 6.72%, losing 2.3%, the Active Citizens - Union of Cypriot Hunters received 5.96%, the Democratic Party received 4.92%, the Movement of Social Democrats EDEK received 3.97% gaining 0.3%, Famagusta for Cyprus received 3.97%, the Movement of Ecologists - Citizens' Cooperation received 2.79% , Change of Generation received 0.6%, Solidarity gained 2.57% losing 2.29%, Breath of the People gained 1.8% winning 1.16%, Awakening 0.3 gained 2020%, the Party for the Animals of Cyprus gained 1.10% losing 0.81% and the Patriotic Coalition took 0.3%.

In the Electoral District of Famagusta, four deputies were elected by DISY, Hatzigiannis Kyriakos with 8.432 votes, Karoullas George with 8.022 votes, Kulla Onoufrios with 6.932 votes and Georgiou Nikos with 5317 votes.

Kettiros Nikos was elected three deputies from AKEL with 7.458 votes, Koukoumas Giorgos with 4.944 votes and Gabriel Giannakis with 4.264 votes.

Giakoumi Michalis was elected MP from the Democratic Party (DIPA) with 1.060 votes, Senekis Christos from DIKO with 1.910 votes and Koulias Zacharias with 1.813 votes and Papagiannis Linos from the National Popular Front (ELAM) with 4.089 votes.

In Famagusta we had four new MPs and more specifically Georgiou Nikos from DISY, Koukoumas Giorgos from AKEL, Giakoumis Michalis from DIPA and Senekis Christos from DIKO.

It is noted that in the parliamentary elections of May 30, one seat was lost to the Citizens' Alliance (Anna Theologou, which later became independent) and one seat to Solidarity, since none of its candidates managed to get elected.
