Lectures at Sotiras Public and Community Kindergarten as part of the program "I know and love the Police from an early age"
Sotiras Public and Community Kindergarten was visited today by members of the Community Policing of the Famagusta Police Department, who, as part of the program "I know and love the Police from an early age", carried out a presentation and practical training on #RoadSafety and the safe movement of children on the road network, with the theme "Walking Safely".
The exercise took place with the teachers and Community Policing members escorting them to the pedestrian crossing outside the school and the newly created traffic education park at the school.
Then the children had the opportunity to see up close and get to know the official police vehicle, the policeman's equipment and especially the radios which they had the opportunity to use.
At the same time, the members of the Community Policing explained to them the offer and the profession of the Police and gave them similar advice for their personal safety. The aim of the Police, in addition to the messages and the cultivation of road awareness through lectures and practice, was for the children to get to know the policemen and their role in society. paid by the Police for the prevention of road collisions A total of 110 children attended the lectures.
It is worth mentioning that also yesterday, May 03, 2023, a hike and bike ride was held by students of the XNUMXth and XNUMXth Grades of the Frenaros Primary School, as part of the Workshop on "Play by the Rules, Drive by the Rules". The children had gone on foot and on bicycles, accompanied by members of the Community Police, observing the rules of the road, from the school to the courtyard of the Archangel Michael Church in #Frenaros, where football matches were held between the children.
