Within the framework of the implementation of the strategic planning of the Famagusta Police Department regarding the prevention of road conflicts in the Famagusta District, especially during the summer season and with an emphasis on the suppression of traffic violations, members of the Famagusta Traffic Police carried out between the dates 09-12/08 /2024 road policing which resulted in 289 traffic complaints.
Among others, the complaints related to 2 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 2 for driving without a driver's license, 6 for speeding, 27 for not wearing a protective helmet, 12 violations related to not wearing a seat belt, 2 for driving vehicles without insurance against a third party, 14 for illegal parking in a disabled parking lot, 5 for overbooking, as well as other traffic violations and offenses.
The campaign of ADE Famagusta to prevent and deal with road collisions as well as the suppression of traffic violations will continue throughout the summer season, while the public using the road network is reminded that excessive speed, driving with the use of a mobile phone and under the influence of alcohol and drugs are the main causes of fatal and serious road collisions.
