The cyclist died
30-year-old PARVINDER SINGH from India died on the bike in a fatal road collision that occurred on the afternoon of January 24. Specifically, a car driven by a 43-year-old woman hit the back of a bicycle driven by a 30-year-old man, who was ahead. From the collision, the cyclist, who was seriously injured, was transported by ambulance to the General Hospital of Famagusta where the doctor on duty certified his death.
He was dragged by a buggy
4-year-old CAMILLA CHRISTINA PAMDAHL, from Sweden, died in a new fatal road collision on May 46. A buggy-type vehicle dragged the 46-year-old woman, who at that time was crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing, on Nisi Avenue in Ayia Napa. The 46-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to Famagusta General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The 25-year-old driver of the vehicle, who fled the scene on foot, was later located and arrested. The 25-year-old underwent a breathalyzer test with an indication of 44μg% instead of 9μg%, as well as a preliminary drug test with a positive indication.
Tragedy in Sotira
Andreas Hatzifilippou, 52, died on June 11 in a road collision that occurred in Sotira. The moped driven by the 52-year-old man, along an anonymous passage in the village of Sotira, heading towards the main road of the Sotiras Industrial area, collided with a car driven by a 46-year-old man. As a result of the collision, the 52-year-old man was thrown onto a road embankment and was taken by ambulance to the Famagusta General Hospital, where the doctor on duty pronounced him dead.
The electric scooter is fatal
In a second fatal road collision that occurred half an hour after midnight, TZVI POGHAL, a 68-year-old visitor from Israel, died. While the 68-year-old was driving his electric scooter in the direction from Ayia Napa to Agia Thekla, he collided with a car driven by a 26-year-old. From the collision, the 68-year-old man was ejected and fell to the ground, while an ambulance was then called, which transported him to the Emergency Department of Famagusta General Hospital, where the doctor on duty certified his death.
Collided with a vehicle
Giorgos Koronidis, 29, from Paralimni, succumbed to his injuries after a serious road collision that occurred on June 35 in Paralimni. A car driven by a 36-year-old woman on Korai Street in Paralimni collided with a motorcycle driven by the unfortunate 35-year-old man. From the collision, the motorcyclist was thrown onto the asphalt and seriously injured. It should be noted that he was wearing a protective helmet. The injured man was taken by ambulance to Famagusta General Hospital where he was intubated and then transferred to Nicosia General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at around 2 am today.
