On 13/11/2024, members of the Famagusta Traffic Police with the participation of members of the local Police Stations of the District, carried out a campaign regarding the suppression of traffic violations and juvenile delinquency. The campaign took part in the Municipalities and Communities of the Province between the hours of 06:00 on 13/11/2024 and 06:00 on 14/11/2024, during which a total of 76 traffic complaints were made.
Among others, the complaints related to 3 for driving without a driver's license, 1 for driving with an expired driver's license, 1 for driving with a suspended driver's license, 2 violations related to the failure to use a seat belt, 7 for driving vehicles without third-party insurance, 11 for driving at excessive speed, 4 for driving a vehicle without a license, 3 for driving without a certificate of fitness, 2 for driving a stationary vehicle, 1 for driving a vehicle in a reckless and dangerous manner. In addition, a vehicle was seized.
The campaign of ADE Famagusta to prevent and deal with road conflicts as well as the suppression of traffic violations continues, while the public using the road network is reminded that excessive speed, driving with the use of a mobile phone and under the influence of alcohol and drugs are the main causes of fatal and serious road collisions.
