From 06:00 am today, up to this time, the Fire Service received an additional 16 calls in the province of Famagusta, bringing the total number to 216 as of Saturday morning.
Today's calls involved pumping water from flooded basements of private homes, businesses and hotels, as well as opening storm drains and moving trees. In one case, help was provided to a person who wanted to leave his house safely due to the rushing waters.
The Fire Service crews will work until the completion of all incidents.

The weather forecast for tonight
Tonight, the weather will remain mostly cloudy and localized showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected again, with the effects mainly located along the coast. On the highest peaks of Troodos and locally on the highest mountains, light snowfall is expected at intervals, while in some areas, light fog or even fog is expected. Winds will be mainly northeast and later locally to northwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and passing locally moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort.
