District of Famagusta: The polls are open - The electoral process is normal

The electoral process normally started at 7 am in the 57 electoral centers of Famagusta province where 32.623 voters are expected to vote for the first round of the Presidential elections.

After a long pre-election period, 14 candidates are put before the Cypriot people in today's first round of the election process.

According to the order they appear on the ballot, the candidates are: Averof Neophytou, Christos Christou, Iulia Horvina Komninos, Charalambos Aristotelous, Achilleas Dimitriadis, Andreas Efstratiou, Andronikos Zervidis, George Kolokasidis, Andreas Mavroyiannis, Celestina De Petro, Alexios Savvidis, Loukas Stavrou , Nikos Christodoulidis, Konstantinos Christofidis.

As stated by the General Election Commissioner Dr. Constantinou, the competent services are on alert so that any problems are addressed immediately.

Voting started smoothly without any particular problems, he noted.

In some cases, he said, there were positive cases among the staff who would work for the elections, replacement procedures were carried out immediately, he emphasized.
