District of Famagusta: Three handcuffed for trafficking in illegal immigrants

The Police arrested three people for trafficking in illegal immigrants, following the arrival of 19 immigrants yesterday afternoon in the province of Famagusta.

Specifically, during the examinations regarding the arrival of irregular immigrants, testimony emerged against two persons aged 42 and one person aged 35, regarding the offense of assisting persons from a third country to enter the Republic of Cyprus illegally.

The three suspects were arrested last night pursuant to court warrants and were taken into custody, while the rest of the passengers were taken to the Pournara Migrant Reception Center.
