Province of Ammochostos: Agricultural products worth 820 euros were stolen - Two persons were arrested

In the arrest of 2 persons aged 49 and 40, respectively, members of the TAE Famagusta proceeded regarding the investigated offenses of conspiracy to commit a felony, burglary of a building and theft and illegal possession of property.

Specifically, on 22/09/2024 it was reported to the TAE of Famagusta by a 60-year-old resident of the District of Famagusta that on 13/09/2024 a warehouse he maintains in Liopetri was broken into and agricultural and other machinery with a total value of 820 euros were stolen from there.

From the examinations that followed and after gathering information, testimony was obtained that the 49-year-old and 40-year-old were involved in the case, against whom judicial arrest warrants were obtained.

On 23/09/2024 the 40-year-old was arrested pursuant to a judicial arrest warrant and on 24/09/2024 he appeared before the Famagusta District Court where a detention order was secured against him for a period of three days.

Subsequently, on 25/09/2024, the 49-year-old was located by members of the TAE Famagusta and arrested pursuant to a judicial arrest warrant. A search of the 49-year-old's home followed, pursuant to a judicial search warrant, during which property was located for which he gave no explanation as to the legality of its possession, and he was subsequently re-arrested for the offense of illegal possession of property.

Today 26/09/2024 the 49-year-old was brought before the District Court of Famagusta and a detention order was secured against him for a period of one day.
