The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, is arriving in Cyprus today for an official visit, following a relevant invitation from the President of the Republic, Nikos Anastasiadis. Tomorrow Friday he will have, among other things, meetings with the President of the Republic and the Speaker of the Parliament, Annita Dimitriou, and he will address the Plenary Session of the Parliament.
Mrs. Metsola will be welcomed at Larnaca airport by the President of the Parliament. According to an announcement by the Parliament, on Friday September 9 the President of the European Parliament will have a meeting at the House of Representatives with Ms. Dimitriou and statements to the press will follow, while afterwards, the President of the European Parliament will address a special session of the Plenary of the House of Representatives, to be followed by an official lunch in honor of Mrs. Metsola.
In addition, it is noted that the President of the European Parliament and the President of the House of Representatives will participate in a discussion with Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot young men and women at the University of Cyprus, which is organized by the Office of the European Parliament in Cyprus.
Finally, it is reported that Ms. Metsola will visit the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Famagusta in Deryneia, where she will have a meeting with the Mayor and the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Famagusta, in the presence of Ms. Dimitriou.
