Within the context of more effective prevention and combating serious and organized crime, increasing and strengthening the sense of security, trust and protection of the citizen, the control of persons who live and work illegally on the territory of the Republic, the Famagusta Police Department conducted in Ayia Napa between the dates 2-5/8/24 operation in collaboration with MMAD, EOMO, YAM and YKAN of Famagusta.
During the operation, motorized and pedestrian patrols were carried out, while replacement barricades were also carried out at various points.
As part of the operation, 58 properties were checked and 37 vehicles were stopped.
3 persons were arrested who resided illegally in the Republic against whom detention and deportation orders will be secured, while 3 persons were also arrested who were found to be residing illegally in the Republic and employed illegally. Cases are expected to be registered against them and their employers before the Court.
A 21-year-old man was arrested for the offenses of drunkenness, disorderly conduct and malicious damage and a criminal case has been registered against him which will be registered before the court.
Also in the context of dealing with the nuisance caused by leisure centers, members of the OPE of Famagusta, Paralimni Police Station and Ayia Napa Police Station carried out inspections of leisure centers from which 8 premises were reported for a total of 21 complaints related to offenses of operating leisure centers without an operating license from the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, without an operating license from the competent municipal authority, without a license to sell alcoholic beverages and without a license to broadcast sound.
The coordinated operations and actions of the Famagusta Police Department, to prevent and suppress crime and all forms of delinquency will continue for the entire summer season.
