A letter of protest was sent by workers in the hotel sector from the province of Famagusta to the Minister of Labor for the non-payment of the Special Allowance for Unemployed Support. Through their letter which was sent on the 19th of last November and secured the Famagusta.News, the employees in the hotel industry express their indignation but also their anxiety for the non-payment of the allowance which has been exhausted after the 1st of July, either because these people did not work seasonally or had accumulated daily wages during the previous tourist season and therefore their unemployment was exhausted after the 1st of July.
Through the letter, they appeal to the Minister of Labor, Welfare and Social Insurance Zeta Aimilianidou, since, as they report, they are in despair without knowing what will happen in the next tourist season while risking these families to be left without income from July 2020 until March 2021, receiving, as reported, a negative response from the Ministry.
At the same time, they point out that they are on the verge of poverty and do not have anywhere else to secure any income, addressing, at the same time, a dramatic appeal since they have no money or food. At the same time, they emphasize that there is no other option left to protest outside the Ministry.
