The Department of Public Works of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that from 06/09/2023 the works of replacing obsolete signaling equipment by a private company at 33 light-controlled junctions and 12 pedestrian crossings of the Pelican type in the wider area of Larnaca and Famagusta, with a new type have started low consumption (Extra Low Voltage-ELV) with LED lamps, Pedestrian Countdown and touch-type demand system for pedestrians.
Equipment replacement work at each location will be completed within one day, barring unforeseen circumstances. During the works, the light-controlled junctions and pedestrian crossings will remain out of order. If necessary, temporary traffic lights will be installed.
During the week of 29/1/2024 – 4/2/2024, works will be carried out at junctions/pedestrian crossings:
Makariou III Avenue / Nisi Avenue (Traffic Lights, Famagusta)
Artemis Avenue / Faneromenis (Traffic Lights, Larnaca)
