District of Famagusta: The electoral process is being conducted smoothly

The electoral process for the Archbishop's Elections in Famagusta has been going smoothly since 10:00 on Sunday morning. In the free province of Famagusta, 50 election centers and 100 voting booths will operate. 33 thousand 106 voters have the right to vote, while in the whole of Cyprus there are 110 thousand refugees originating from the province of Famagusta. The Metropolitan of Constantia and Famagusta will exercise his electoral right at the Metropolitan Church of Agios Georgios in Paralimni at 12.30 noon.

The Office of the Commissioner of the Presidency Fotis Fotiou in a statement states that according to information received from the General Commissioner of Elections for the Archbishop Elections Ioannis Harilaou, arrangements have been made for our Prisoners living in Karpasia to exercise their right to vote.

According to information from the KYPE, 210 trapped people have the right to vote. The Republic made sure to provide a bus for the transport of those trapped who wish to exercise their right to vote.

Until last night there was no interest from those trapped to be transported by bus in an organized manner in order to exercise their right to vote.

If there is interest, the bus will start from the occupied Rizokarpasos accompanied by the United Nations, they will pass through the Deryneia roadblock and exercise their right to vote in three centers at the Acheritos Primary School in Vrysoules which will be integrated with the votes of the residents of the area.

The polls will be open from 10.00:13 am to 00:14 pm and from 00:18 pm to 00:XNUMX pm. Exercising the right to vote is done by presenting an identity card or voter book.

After the voting has been completed, the ballots have been counted and the results have been sent to the General Registrar of Elections, for safekeeping purposes the ballot boxes will be transferred to the Famagusta District Administration until the period set for examination of possible objections.
