Today, the Police arrested a 45-year-old resident of Nicosia, in order to facilitate investigations regarding an investigated case of extorting money with false representations.
The case was reported to the TAE of Famagusta, by a 44-year-old restaurateur, according to which in 2023 he came into contact with the 45-year-old, who was introduced to him as a lawyer. The 45-year-old allegedly extorted from the 44-year-old a sum of money in excess of €10,000, in order to register employees, who would be employed at the complainant's restaurant, in the province of Famagusta, without however doing so.
A judicial arrest warrant was issued against the 45-year-old, pursuant to which he was arrested today and taken into custody to facilitate investigations.
TAE Famagusta is investigating the case.
