The storm that hit the free province of Famagusta this afternoon left behind floods. In particular, in the early afternoon the heavy rainfall led to flooding in the center of Protaras. According to videos posted by social media users, the heavy rain has led to flooded roads, while the Fire Service has not yet issued any notice of flooded properties.
Also, in the late afternoon, a strong hailstorm occurred in the west of the free province of Famagusta, specifically in Avgorou as well as in the community of Ormidia in the province of Larnaca.

A low pressure system centered west of the island will affect the area until tomorrow. The phenomena in places are expected to be transiently intense or even prolonged. There will be light dust in the atmosphere, but it will subside from tomorrow.
Tonight, the weather will be mostly cloudy with isolated showers and thunderstorms. Hail is also expected to fall in a storm. Gradually the phenomena will be limited to the coastal areas. Winds will be mainly northeast to southeast, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and passing on the windward coast to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. In a storm however, the winds will change and strengthen with stronger gusts. The sea will generally remain until rough. The temperature will drop to around 14 degrees in the interior, around 17 on the coasts and around 7 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tomorrow, the weather will remain mostly cloudy, while localized showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected. Hail may also fall in a storm. Progressively, however, until late afternoon, the weather will improve noticeably, with the effects becoming limited and weakening. Winds will be mainly northeast to southeast and locally to southwest, light to moderate and transient moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will generally remain slightly rough to rough. The temperature will rise to around 23 degrees inland, on the south and east coasts, around 21 on the west and north coasts and around 13 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tomorrow evening, locally increased clouds will be observed, while isolated rain is expected, mainly in the coastal areas, while in the north the occurrence of an isolated storm is not excluded. Winds will be mostly northwest to northeast, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will generally be a little rough, but gradually by the morning it will become calm to a little rough.
On Tuesday, locally increased clouds will be observed from time to time, while during the midday hours and after, isolated rains are expected, without excluding the occurrence of an isolated storm, mainly in mountainous areas but also in areas in the south of the island. On Wednesday and Thursday, the weather will be mostly clear, while increased clouds will be observed in places.
The temperature until Thursday will gradually rise slightly, to fluctuate a little above the average climatic values of the season.
