In the last 143 hours, the Police proceeded with 24 complaints of citizens and two complaints of premises for violation of the measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus disease.

In statements to KYPE, a representative of the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters stated that from 06:00 on Wednesday until 06:00 on Tuesday, 10.277 inspections were carried out, which resulted in 143 complaints of citizens and two complaints of premises.

More specifically, a property was reported in Limassol, for which a criminal case will be filed for a court, since it functioned as a restaurant, without having an open space.

Also, a cafe in Kakopetria was reported, in which there were patrons inside, while a fine of 500 euros was submitted to the owner.

Regarding the inspections by province, in Nicosia 2.311 inspections were carried out and 8 complaints of citizens emerged, while in Limassol 2.002 inspections were carried out with 73 complaints of citizens and one in a property.

In Larnaca 1.879 inspections were carried out with 15 complaints of citizens, in Paphos 1.401 inspections were carried out with 27 complaints of citizens, in Famagusta 1.134 inspections were carried out with 11 complaints of citizens and in the area of ​​Morfos 976 inspections were carried out with 3 complaints of citizens and one in a property.

Also, throughout Cyprus, the Traffic Police carried out 520 inspections, which resulted in the complaints of 6 citizens.

At airports and ports, the Police carried out 54 inspections, which did not reveal any violation.
