Famagusta: "Test to Stay" will be held in these clinical laboratories from Monday

As part of the efforts of the Ministry of Health for the better service of students and parents who use the measure "test to stay" from Monday, February 7, 2022, students will be able to be served by chemists / laboratories in all cities, where they will be given the Rapidtest for free. Students who choose to take the exam in a chemistry / laboratory, will receive the result of the exam in the special form "test to stay" which will be presented upon entering school.

On Monday, February 7, 2022, a total of 352 points will operate, of which 271 in schools and 81 in chemistry and laboratories.

Clarifications of the Ministry of Health:

• The specific points will work from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the better service of the students who will be close contacts. (For students of Secondary Education it is recommended that they arrive between the hours of 07:00 - 07:30, so that there is no further loss of teaching time).
• Adherence to the above measure is optional and is addressed only to students who are close contacts of a confirmed positive incident COVID-19 and by protocol should be self-limiting and declared within the school, as defined by the health protocol governing the school units (two meters away from all directions of the positive incident, inside the classroom, during breaks, during sports and during transport with private vehicle).

Specifically:

What applies to close contacts who have completed their vaccination program or have a disease certificate and the 90-day period has not expired;

• According to the protocol, they are not obliged to self-limit and on the 3rd and 5th day after contact, they undergo a rapid antigen test (Rapid test), while there is a recommendation for PCR or Rapid antigen test (Rapid test) on the 7th day.
• The Rapid test on the 3rd and 5th day can be performed either through the sampling units that arrive at the schools, or through the predetermined sampling points referred by the Ministry of Health.

What about close contacts who have no history of vaccination, or have received at least one dose of vaccine, or have become ill and have had 90 days?

• They will have the choice of either being confined for 10 days as provided in the relevant protocol, or being released on the 7th day after a rapid antigen test or PCR laboratory test, or coming to the predetermined points for a rapid antigen test. (Rapid test) daily for the period of 7 consecutive days after contact (excluding holidays and weekends).
• The students participating in the “testtostayAre not required to come to the pre-designated sampling points referred to them by the Ministry of Health for a rapid antigen detection test (fasttest) on the 3rd and 5th day from the date of contact.
• This measure only applies to school opening hours (including single all-day schools and optional all-day schools) and once close contacts are removed from schools, they should be restricted as they continue to be considered close contacts and do not will be able to take part in other evening activities (such as tutoring, sports, etc.)
• Students should avoid being transported by public transport and go to school by private vehicle.
• The absence of students / three from the class during the laboratory testing process will be justified.
• It is clarified that, if a person is tested in the afternoon and is found to be positive, his contacts at school will be able to use the application of the measure "test to stay".
• Primary and secondary school students living in remote or mountainous communities will continue to be served by the sampling points that will visit the schools.
• In any case, the parents / guardians have the responsibility of escorting and supervising the children who will come to the sampling centers located in the schools.
