A 5-year prison sentence was imposed by the Larnaca Permanent Criminal Court on a 24-year-old man, against whom a case had been registered for trafficking in irregular migrants.
The offenses for which the 24-year-old was sentenced to imprisonment were committed on 13/04/2024, in the Famagusta District and concerned:
Transport of persons by water in an overloaded vessel,
Assistance or assistance to a prohibited immigrant to enter the Republic,
Participation in migrant smuggling and
Participation in an organized criminal group.
