Today, the Permanent Criminal Court of Famagusta imposed prison terms on two men aged 28 and 19, who were found guilty after a trial of a case related to offenses committed during the transport of a number of illegal immigrants, by sea boat, in the area of Famagusta, last November.
The case concerned the arrival of 125 irregular immigrants, by sea vessel, in the area of free Famagusta, on the evening of November 05, 2023. Among them the 28-year-old and 19-year-old, who were subsequently arrested by members of the Police, pursuant to court warrants, for offenses of aiding illegal entry into the Republic, as well as for the offenses of participation in a criminal organization, and money laundering.
At the conclusion of the trial of the case, the Permanent Criminal Court today imposed prison terms of two and a half years on the 28-year-old and four years on the 19-year-old.
