In the Free Province of Famagusta, the event condemning the pseudo-state was organized by ESEM. The participants gathered at the Paralimni Lyceum and then, chanting slogans and holding banners and flags, marched towards the monument of Tasos Isaac and Solomos Solomos.
In his statements, the President of ESEM Famagusta Evelthon Kyprianou said "we are here today in front of the monuments of heroes Tassos Isaac and Solomos Solomos to honor their sacrifice and to send a resounding message in every direction: we honor the hero Tassos Markos and in his person those who sacrificed and fought against the Turkish invader of 1974 to defend the Cypriot people, the legitimacy and integrity of our homeland."
The Mayor of Paralimni-Deryneia, Mr. George Nikolettos, emphasized that "The presence and voice of the new generation always constitute the strongest network of hope for the future of our country, especially when it concerns our national problem, which remains unresolved for over half a century of Turkish invasion and occupation and violation of human rights on our island."
This was preceded by the laying of wreaths at the monument of Lieutenant General Tassos Markos in Agios Georgios Square.
