A 40-year-old man was arrested yesterday by the Police, in the context of the investigation of a case concerning illegal possession of drugs for the purpose of supply, which was committed on August 26, 2020 in Larnaca.
According to the police, on August 26, 2020, after a coordinated operation, members of YKAN located in a vehicle of a 38-year-old man in Larnaca, a quantity of cannabis weighing 1 kg and 125 grams. The 38-year-old was arrested and remains in custody.
The 40-year-old was arrested yesterday with a court warrant and was detained to facilitate the investigations, while during a search of his home under a court warrant in the province of Famagusta, a shotgun (DOKO) and 231 shotguns were found and confiscated as evidence. The suspect was also arrested for the self-inflicted crime of illegal possession of a firearm and explosives.
The 40-year-old was brought before the Larnaca District Court today, where a five-day detention order was issued against him.
