The Police arrested a 65-year-old man shortly after midnight, pursuant to a court warrant, as part of an investigation into a case of injury and committing acts with the intent to cause actual bodily harm.
According to the information currently under examination, at around 9:00 on Wednesday evening, while the 65-year-old was at his residence in the Famagusta district, he allegedly stabbed a 50-year-old man who had visited him.
At approximately 9:20 p.m., the 65-year-old himself called the police, reporting that the 50-year-old visited him and threatened him with a knife.
Police officers immediately went to the scene, where it was found that the 50-year-old had sustained injuries. The injured man was taken to Famagusta General Hospital, where he was provided with medical care and his head and left hand wounds were sutured. After receiving the necessary treatment, he was discharged.
The case is being investigated by the Famagusta Police Department.
