The District Court of Famagusta issued today a detention order for seven days against a 22-year-old young man, to facilitate the Police's investigations regarding an investigated case of burglaries and thefts from beer bars and beach bars committed in the months of September and October in Paralimni and Ayia Napa, from in which sums of money, electronic devices and consumables with a total value of 4.295 euros were stolen.
As Steve Theodoulou, press representative of the Famagusta Police Department, told KYPE, "with the arrest yesterday, Thursday, October 31, of the 22-year-old, the number of arrests for this case reached five".
As he noted, two of the 17-year-olds arrested are being held by the Nicosia Police Department for similar cases. After being interrogated, the two 17-year-olds were taken back to Nicosia to continue their detention, pursuant to detention orders.
According to Mr. Theodoulou, a third 17-year-old was arrested on October 12 in Ayia Napa by virtue of a court warrant and is also still in custody, as was a fourth 17-year-old, who was arrested on October 8.
The case is being investigated by the Famagusta Police Department.
