The Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia had the honor of hosting representatives of European Law Enforcement Bodies at the Deryneia Folk Art Museum, as part of their visit to Cyprus in view of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
In his greeting, the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, Mr. George Nikolettos, expressed his joy and special honor for the presence of the distinguished guests, noting that their visit is a significant distinction for the Municipality. At the same time, he referred to the Deryneia Folk Art Museum as a place that preserves the history, tradition and cultural identity of the region.
The Mayor presented Deryneia as a place with deep roots in tradition, culture and hospitality, known especially for the cultivation of strawberries, one of the most characteristic local products of Cyprus. The guests had the opportunity to taste fresh strawberries, while the Mayor extended an invitation to visit the 15th Pancyprian Deryneia Strawberry Festival, which takes place every year and is one of the most important cultural institutions of the region.
Subsequently, reference was made to the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia as a destination that combines authentic experiences, cultural points of interest and the seaside resort of Protaras, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Mediterranean, known for its crystal-clear beaches and turquoise waters.
In closing, the Mayor expressed the hope that this visit would be the beginning of a meaningful relationship with the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia and invited the visitors to return in the future to learn even more about the culture, history and hospitality of the region.
