Police arrested a 20-year-old man who is said to be involved in a series of burglary and theft cases committed in Limassol.

Specifically, around 6.20 yesterday morning, information was received that a stolen vehicle was located in an area of ​​Larnaca province. Upon arrival of members of the Police in the area, a person boarded the vehicle in question and fled. Members of the Police followed the car which continued its course towards the Larnaca - Ayia Napa highway. He then left the Xylotympos exit to return to the highway to Larnaca. Subsequently, under the circumstances under investigation, the suspicious vehicle collided with a patrol car and after it was stopped at the exit to the highway, its driver fled on foot. Subsequently, he was located and detained by members of the Police and was arrested for the spontaneous crime of theft, by members of the Police of Dhekelia Bases, since he was in the area of ​​the Bases.

A member of the Police was injured in the collision and was transported to Larnaca General Hospital, where he was found to have neck pain, injury to his right side and shoulder, and after receiving first aid, he was fired.

Further investigations into the suspect revealed that he was a 20-year-old man, wanted for six cases of burglary and theft, committed between May 14 - July 16, 2019 in Limassol. The 20-year-old was arrested under pending court warrants against him and was remanded in custody to facilitate investigations.
