Giannis Karousos inspected buses in Famagusta (IMAGES)

The Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Mr. Giannis Karousos, paid a visit today to the free province of Famagusta where he met with the local authorities and discussed various issues that fall within the competence of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works.

In this context, Mr. Karousos visited the Community Councils of Achna, Avgorou, Acheritos and Frenaros where he had meetings with the Presidents and Members of the Community Councils. During his visit to the above communities, the Minister discussed with the Presidents and the Members of the Community Councils various requests concerning the communities and examined ways of dealing with the issues with the ultimate goal of better serving the residents of the area. Also, in the community of Achna, Mr. Karousos visited the Post Agency and then visited the Post Office in the Community of Avgorou.

In addition, the Minister inspected, together with supervisors of the Road Transport Department, the student buses of the Kokkinochorion High School of Panos Ioannos and the Kokkinochorion Lyceum of Fotis Pitta. Then Mr. Karousos boarded a student bus and traveled with the students the route from the High School of Kokkinochorion Panos Ioannou to the community of Liopetri where he found that all the hygiene measures required by the Safety and Health Protocol applied in framework for tackling the coronavirus pandemic

Finally, the Minister visited and was guided to the Apostolos Pavlos Special School in Liopetri.
