A meeting and on-site inspection of the construction works of the new roundabout on Protaras Avenue - Kavo Gkreko (near the Lidl supermarket) was held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, with the participation of the Director of the Public Works Department, Mr. Lefteris Eleftheriou, and the District Engineer, Mr. Dinos Kotziapasis.
During the visit, the progress of the work, compliance with the approved schedule, as well as technical issues related to road safety and the unhindered movement of drivers and pedestrians at a particularly busy traffic point were thoroughly examined.
The roundabout under construction is part of the broader plan to improve the traffic organization of the area and is expected to contribute substantially to the normalization of vehicle flow, the reduction of delays and the enhancement of the level of safety for residents and visitors.
As stated by the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, Mr. George Nikolettos, the cooperation with the Department of Public Works continues in a spirit of close coordination, with the common goal of the timely, qualitative and functionally sound completion of the project for the benefit of the local community and the tourist development of the area.
