Famagusta EBE: Disagrees with the creation of a single Municipality in El. Famagusta

The Famagusta Chamber of Commerce and Commerce (EVEA) disagrees with the creation of a super-Municipality in the province of Famagusta, occupied and not, expressing the view that with this action, there is a visible danger of losing and permanently replacing the occupied city of Famagusta.

In a written announcement of the Chamber, it is stated that "With sadness and feelings of bitterness and indignation, we are watching the last 24 hours of the fermentation and methods, which are done on the issue of the reorganization of local government in the free province of Famagusta. Despite our concerns and concerns, which concern both the economic development and progress of all Municipalities and Communities in the region, "Our concern for the marginalization and devaluation of the occupied Municipality of the Metropolis of the whole province, occupied or not, which was expressed in an official announcement by the Municipality of Famagusta, does not seem to be taken into account at all."

Once again, it is noted that "it seems that, as a people, we do not take national issues seriously, but also the risks that may arise for our national cause from a decision, for a matter of domestic or economic policy, and in this case , what is called local government reform ".

The announcement also states that "We have raised the issue of creating a Municipality in the free province of Famagusta to a major issue, with the result that it is considered a disaster for some if they fail to create 17 instead of 18 municipalities across Cyprus, without even taking into account the visible risk of being lost and permanently replaced. the occupied city of Famagusta by a new Municipality, neighboring and alternate in the eyes of third parties. The recent Greek history is full of such examples of new municipalities that were permanently lost ".

EBE also expresses the impression that "Some have written off for good the occupied Famagusta and the rest of our occupied land.
