In a special event held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at the Paralimni-Derynia Town Hall, ETAP Famagusta, in collaboration with the Municipality of Paralimni-Derynia, the Municipality of Agia Napa and PASYXE Famagusta, honored the CEO of Jet2, Mr. Steve Heapy, for his contribution to the development of tourism in Famagusta Region. Jet2 is a giant in the field of tourism internationally, while Mr. Heapy has been an iconic figure in the field of tourism for many years.
The honor awarded to Mr. Heapy is that of the "Distinguished friend and supporter of Famagusta region", while the event was held in a packed room by operators of the tourism sector of the region, representatives of the Ministry of Tourism, Hermes Airports and the two municipalities of the region. After referring to the contribution of Mr. Heapy and Jet2 in the ongoing upgrade of Ayia Napa and the province of Famagusta more broadly, pointed out that the aim of the municipality of Ayia Napa is, through the enrichment of experiences for every visitor with an emphasis on sustainability, to create such infrastructures that constitute a valuable heritage and to inspire future generations.
