Kostas Sotiriou was sentenced today to a minimum prison sentence of 28 years, either in BB prison in Dhekelia or in the United Kingdom.
Mr. Sotiriou was found guilty of the premeditated murder of Charalambos Konstantinidis in June 2024.
The sentence was announced this morning at the BB Court in Dhekelia.
The Deputy Commissioner of the BB, Fanos Christodoulou, stated: “This sentence was achieved due to the excellent cooperation between the BB Police and the BB Attorney General’s office. We are very pleased that the family of Mr. Konstantinidis has seen justice served with this major sentence.
"As I have said before, nothing can ease the pain of losing a loved one, but at least the perpetrator of this crime has been sentenced to a long prison sentence for this horrific crime."
