The opposition to the free Famagusta is heating up - EBEA's harsh response to... Pirilli

Pirilli targets the EBEA - Fierce opposition and "paper war" - Response to a joint letter of the Mayors and Mayors of Deryneia, Paralimni, Frenaros and Acheritos - "Interests and 'cut off' Famagusta"

In a very strict style but targeting only the Mayor of Paralimni, the Famagusta Chamber of Commerce and Industry responded to the joint letter sent by the Mayors and Community Leaders of Deryneia, Paralimni, Frenarou and Acherito. The targeting of the Mayor of Paralimni seems to have happened since the latter did not fail to blame the President directly of the Chamber of Famagusta with relevant excerpt from his speech during the 2021 General Assembly, which he uploaded on Social Media and in which there is talk of the transfer of the AXIK to Paphos instead of the free Famagusta.

In its letter entitled "Famagusta Chamber of Commerce and Industry: No one will write off its identity and contribution of 70 years", it clarifies that the efforts to transfer the AXIK to the free Famagusta were made from the first moment with intense performances and interventions. At the same time, the role of EBEA in the fight for the interests of the people of Famagusta everywhere is pointed out, while it does not fail to throw its arrows at the Mayor of Paralimni, directly accusing him of trying to separate the free and the occupied province of Famagusta.

The EBEA's letter is the same:

"It seems that the conscious, on the part of the Famagusta Chamber of Commerce (EBEA), avoiding further aggravation of the already burdened climate with the sole aim of focusing on dealing with the multitude of problems faced by the businessmen of our free province, is perceived as a weakness by Mr. Pyrillis who tries to find and/or invent ways to reduce the offer of the Chamber, having of course the ultimate goal of serving other interests, increasing the climate of confrontation which has the impression that it suits him.

Mr. Pyrillis, you cannot lie because the facts contradict you:

1. From the first moment that the issue of the headquarters of the AXIK was raised, the Chamber of Famagusta in cooperation with the local authorities and with PASYXE Famagusta reacted and took action with intense performances and interventions both in the legislative authority and in the Ministry of Education (met with the Minister) with the aim of transferring its headquarters to El. Famagusta Province. At the same time, there was coordination and joint reactions with the KEBE. (Details of actions and actions are available to anyone interested).
2. The Chamber of Famagusta is an organization that strives non-profit to find solutions to the many problems faced by the business world of Famagusta and especially those of its members. It also embraces and supports every effort undertaken by city and county agencies that aims to further develop our businesses. How is it possible to oppose the interests of its own members?
3. The Chamber of Famagusta, Mr. Pyrillis, is an institution that struggles under adverse conditions to keep alive the memory of our occupiers until the holy hour of liberation and return. The least one would expect from the Mayor of the largest Municipality of the free province would be to support any such effort rather than undermine it by serving ephemeral ambitions. Despite your efforts to cut off the displaced Famagusta people living outside the Free Famagusta District from the occupied and free Famagusta District, we assure you that we are not going to deny either our origin or our identity.
4. The Chamber of Famagusta, Mr. Pyrillis, is an organization that recently completed 70 years of life, 48 of which in exile. You, Mr. Pyrillis, maintain an incendiary climate, which fortunately the great majority of the residents of the area do not favor. A climate of intense confrontation which none of your predecessors ever adopted. Does this bother you, or do you want to claim that your predecessors did not want the good of the area?
5. The Chamber of Famagusta promises that it will remain committed to serving Famagusta residents everywhere, safeguarding the occupied city where it was born, with its doors always open for all Famagusta residents, wherever they live."
