With deep emotion and unspeakable sadness, the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia and the Municipal District of Frenaros bid farewell to the Community Leader of Frenaros for 27 years, Andreas Koutounas, who passed away at the age of 90.
His funeral will be held today, Monday, August 10, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., at the Church of the Archangel Michael Frenarous, while the family will receive condolences from 5:00 p.m.
Andreas Koutouna served Frenaros from 1979 to 2006, as the longest-serving Community Leader in the history of the community. With vision, hard work and dedication, he linked his name to a period of substantial growth, leaving behind significant work and a great legacy for future generations.
Above all, he will be remembered by all as a man of contribution, ethics and selflessness, who served his country with consistency and love, earning the respect and appreciation of his fellow citizens.
As a minimal sign of honor and gratitude for his long and valuable contribution, his funeral will be held at public expense.
The Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, Deputy Mayor Frenarous and the entire Municipal Council express their deepest sorrow and sincere condolences to his wife, children, grandchildren, relatives and all his loved ones.
