Famagusta Municipality: They join voices and protest against photovoltaic parks

The Municipalities of Paralimni - Deryneia and Ayia Napa and their Municipal Districts of Frenaros, Sotiras, Avgorou, Liopetri, Ayia Napa, Paralimni, Deryneia, Acheritos, and Achna call on all their citizens and those interested in the rational development and installation of Renewable Energy Sources to actively participate in the DISTRICT peaceful demonstration of protest against the uncontrolled licensing, construction and operation of photovoltaic parks on state-owned chalk and agricultural land of high natural value in the free province of Famagusta.

The peaceful protest event will take place on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. at the Frenaros Municipal District Events Hall.

In their announcement, they state that "The request of the Municipalities of Paralimni - Deryneia and Ayia Napa, as well as their citizens, is the REJECTION OF ALL APPLICATIONS UNDER EXAMINATION FOR THE LICENSING, CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF PHOTOVOLTAIC AND WIND PARKS IN THE FREE PROVINCE OF FAMAGUSTA!"
