On September 18 at the Frenarous Municipal Amphitheatre and within the framework of the Music Festival of the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia (September 17-21, 2025) we honor the memory of Elias Kouloumis, one of the most important folk musicians and singers of Cyprus. Elias Kouloumis was a tireless and tireless worker of the Cypriot musical tradition who dedicated his life to the preservation and dissemination of our folk culture. Through his rich work, he managed to rescue valuable material, such as recordings of older musicians, stories, couplets and songs, but also to record with his voice and lute a significant number of Cypriot traditional songs. His music today constitutes an important cultural heritage, a source of inspiration for younger generations and a symbol of the struggle to preserve our identity and tradition.
