The 17th Pancyprian Watermelon Cultural Festival was held with great success on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in the Frenaros Municipal District, bringing together more than 8.000 visitors from all over Cyprus and abroad.
Guests enjoyed free fresh watermelon and halloumi, unique watermelon-based culinary creations, cocktails, the special watermelon beer of the Octo microbrewery, as well as an exhibition with 28 watermelon varieties from the Department of Agriculture.
The program included rich activities for children, while the award for the largest watermelon was presented to Andreas Economou with a watermelon weighing 28,65 kilograms.
The evening concluded with the great concert by Christos Menidiatis and Eleftheria Eleftheriou, who thrilled the audience.
The Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia expresses its warm thanks to the watermelon producers of SEDIGEP Frenaros, the sponsors, supporters, volunteers, organized groups and the staff of the Municipality who contributed decisively to the successful organization.
