A driver hit the EAC stake support stake with his car, as a result of which he was cut off.
According to the Police, and as first reported by Famagusta.News last night, around 19:15 last night, a 39-year-old man from Deryneia was driving his car on the road from Frenaros to Vrysoules, when at some point on the road he deviated from his course to the right, as a result of which he hit a support pole of the EAC which he cut off.
The car then collided with an off-road sign and came to a standstill.
At the same time, a 30-year-old man from Vrysoules, who was driving his double-cab car, heading from Vrysoules to the center of Frenaros, hit the fallen broken EAC pole that was inside the road, resulting in extensive damage to his vehicle.
A stake support cable and a CYTA cable were also cut from the EAC stake.
The 39-year-old driver was transported by ambulance to the TAEP of the General Hospital of Famagusta with microtraumas and after receiving first aid he was discharged.
The 39-year-old underwent a preliminary alcohol test with an indication of 103mg% instead of 22mg% and in the final examination the indication was 77mg%.
A preliminary alcohol test was also performed on the 30-year-old driver of the second car with zero indication. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, while both vehicles suffered extensive damage.
The case is being investigated by the Deryneia Police Station.
