A 26-year-old man is hospitalized in serious condition at Nicosia General Hospital, after being injured in a road collision that occurred in the early hours of the morning in the Famagusta district.
The collision occurred around 1.30am today, in the early hours of the morning on Fotis Pitta Street, in Frenaros, when the 26-year-old, under circumstances that are being investigated, lost control of the car he was driving, causing it to go off the road and overturn in a nearby field.
The 26-year-old was trapped in his vehicle and the intervention of members of the Fire Department was required to free him. He was subsequently transferred to the Famagusta General Hospital, where it was determined that he had multiple fractures of the thoracic vertebrae and ribs, a fractured chest and pulmonary contusions. He was then transferred to the Nicosia General Hospital, where he was kept for hospitalization. His health condition is considered serious by the attending physicians.
The Deryneia Police Station is investigating the causes of the collision.
