With a focus on Road Safety, among other policing issues, members of the Famagusta Police Department had the opportunity to talk to the public, who attended Frenaros, where on Friday July 8, it was held by the Community Council in collaboration with the Watermelon Farmers SEDIGEP Frenarous, the 13th Watermelon Festival.
Members of the Famagusta Community Police operated a booth at the festival site, where the Crime Prevention Office's Mobile Enlightenment Unit was also moved.
Members of the Police distributed informational material, with an emphasis on road safety, with the aim of raising public awareness and preventing road traffic collisions.
The children who visited the Police booth with their parents were also given various gifts.
The festival was visited by around 3,000 people, while the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Mr. Yiannis Karousos, MPs, representatives of the Municipalities and Communities of the free Famagusta, and Officers of the Famagusta Police Department, also attended.
The Festival was held under the Patronage of the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mr. Savvas Perdio, who also attended the Festival.
