A student, the grandson of the hero Fotis Pittas, sent a letter to the President of the Republic asking to be able to honor the grandfather of the hero Fotis Pittas.

In his letter, the student states that he speaks as a representative of all Greeks who would like to honor their heroes, but also with the support of all the bands in the province, as he states.

The letter is as follows:

"Mr President,

With all due respect to you, I am writing this message as a representative of all the Greeks of Cyprus who were looking forward to honoring their heroes and especially the various bands that at their own pace would make the heroes listen to us from above.

I would like to express my deep sorrow and indignation at the issue of the curfew as it makes it impossible to honor those who fell in the 55-59 race .. as you wrote in one of your posts: "I am a grandfather who happens to be president" so I am also a student who happens to be the grandson of the Hero Fotis Pittas from Frenaros.

Honestly, what a beautiful thing the parades, the candlelight vigils and the ethos that we did in our villages and we really made them proud.

Because of the need I feel I want to let you know that it is my duty to attend my grandfather's bust with a wreath to do what I have to do and I am ready to suffer the consequences like many others who want to do the same and I call on them to do so. they do. I understand the situation but think: they were defying the "kefirou" to be We here, we why not?

Of course this can be done with the presence of less than 3 people with the necessary distance or even individually. The process will take a maximum of 4 minutes.

My compliments,

George Papaioannou. ”
