Winged visitors of the lake
Lake Paralimni, a precious treasure trove of biodiversity, faces serious threats due to human intervention. Despite its importance as a refuge for dozens of bird species, pollution and the destruction of its natural environment threaten the balance of the ecosystem.
Uncontrolled waste disposal and construction activity limit the birds' habitats, reducing their ability to survive and reproduce. Herons, flamingos and other migratory birds find the lake a safe haven, but human activity disturbs their tranquility.
We all call for immediate protection measures, such as the prohibition of illegal interventions and the systematic cleaning of the lake. Saving Lake Paralimni is of vital importance, not only for the birdlife, but also for the natural beauty of the area.
