CAPE GREECE: Missing migrant who fell into the sea - Investigations continue

The migrant who fell into the sea with the aim of swimming to land is still missing.
The search and rescue coordination center's watercraft continued to search for the migrant in the area throughout the night.

Air traffic began searching early this morning after flights were suspended last night due to darkness.

Specifically, four vessels of the Republic, three of the Coast Guard and one of the National Guard participated in the rescue operation, while foot patrols were carried out on the coast by members of the Famagusta Police Department.

It is recalled that the boats were located at a distance of approximately 10 nautical miles from the coasts of the Republic.

The 188 irregular migrants were initially transferred to the port of Larnaca and then transferred to the Pournara Temporary Accommodation Center in Kokkinotrimithia.

The Police also proceeded to arrest two persons.
